About us

Tamkeen is a non-profit center initiated by H.H General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and supported by Knowledge Village, British Council, and biz-ability aiming at empowering the vision impaired individuals in UAE through providing training, support, and counseling.

To become the leading provider of training, services, resources, and information to vision impaired people, empowering them to optimize their independence and creating opportunities to enhance the quality of their lives.

Tamkeen’s Mission

Utilizing the knowledge of the center’s expertise and collaborating with the community sectors to provide the necessary training and service to the vision impaired, and to create meaningful job opportunities for them in the UAE.

Objectives

• To become the focal point for the vision impaired UAE nationals and residents in matters relating to training
        employment preparation, creating employment opportunities and facilitating career development.

• To increase the use of adaptive technology within the region and provide those users with a greater range of skills.
• To create better awareness of the abilities of the vision impaired within the community in order to provide better levels of cooperation between the two.
